N.V. Tilak was also the Marathi Editor of the Dnyanodaya from 1912-1917. By the way, where can I find a copy of Tilak, Narayan Vaman. Loka Bandhu Prabhu Yeshu Khrist. (Jesus the People's Friend, I). [Prose.] Bombay: Bombay Tract Society, 1921. 38 pp. [BTBS]?
ReplyDeleteI am working on a Master's Thesis on Tilak's prose writings in the Dnyanodaya's during the period when he was it's editor.
You are right about his being the editor. Was he also the founder of the review?
ReplyDeleteI have no idea where to find the copy you need. Where are you based? You could try various places: the United Biblical College Pune, for example. Or UTC Bangalore.
I was intrigued to see reference to a photocopy of a translation of Devdatt's abridgment of his mother's account of NVT, done by Louis Menezes in 1997. Seeking further information I found this was published in 2007 by Katha (New Delhi). H. L. Richard
